Friends of Holliston Trails

The Holliston Board of Selectmen established the Holliston Trails Committee on January 25, 1999 as a 7-member board. The mission of the Committee is to implement the goal of establishing a multi-purpose trail system through the Town of Holliston to connect with adjacent towns for the 20-mile looped trail network system connecting the towns of Holliston, Milford, Hopkinton, Ashland and Sherborn.  The Committee assists the Board of Selectmen with the implementation process including: assistance with land leases, land acquisition, consultant coordination, grant applications, design decisions, publicity, support, safety measures and maintenance. The Committee members are expected to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents of the town and the legal users of the trail.

Upper Charles Conservation Land Trust

The Upper Charles Conservation Land Trust ("Upper Charles") is a regional not-for-profit land trust dedicated to preserving open spaces in the Upper Charles River Valley (Dover, Holliston, Hopkinton, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis, Natick, and Sherborn). We are a 501(c)(3) publicly supported charity and all donations are fully tax deductible. Our organization was founded in 1992 to promote the purposes of land conservation for the benefit of the general public, historic preservation, and the protection of natural resources.  We own more than 300 acres of land in the towns of Holliston, Medfield, Medway, and Sherborn, including the 110 acre Wenakeening Woods located off Summer Street and Highland Street on the Holliston/Medway line.  Upper Charles is also working with local activisits to create public trails including the walking and bike trail known as the "Upper Charles Trail" in the towns of Holliston, Hopkinton, Milford, and Sherborn.  We have helped the towns of Holliston, Hopkinton, Medway, and Millis to approve the Community Preservation Act (CPA) which has enabled these towns to acquire hundreds of additional acres of open space.
