KeepSmilin4Abbie

The KeepSmilin4Abbie Foundation is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Hopkinton, MA.  Our mission is simple: to stop anaphylaxis. We have three goals to support that mission:

1. Fund Research into early detection of anaphylaxis, a fast moving and potentially fatal allergic reaction to food, insect stings, medicine, or latex. We partner with the Wyss Institute at Harvard University to fund Project Abbie, a project to detect and treat anaphylaxis in the earliest stages of the reaction.
2. Increase Awareness of the severity of anaphylaxis. We partner with AllergyHome.org to provide awareness programs within our community.
3. Provide Scholarships to two Hopkinton High School graduating students pursuing their post-secondary education.

KeepSmilin4Abbie began operations in January 2014, shortly after the sudden death of Abbie Benford just eight days before her sixteenth birthday. Abbie was an amazing young woman. She laughed, she loved, and she lived! Her death was the catalyst that brought together an amazing group of volunteers, donors, and researchers who are passionate about providing life-saving technology solutions for up to 15 million Americans at risk of anaphylaxis.
